.Net vs Visual Studio 6

Hello

As you can see im new here, due to the fact that i was wondering what would be the best solution. Im now a VB5 programmer and wanna start getting skills in C++. Now i my question what do all of you suggest, that use Visual C++6 or .Net. And pls tell me what you like .net(i think this will be your opinion due the the fact this is a .net forum). And if you have any links/ articles discussing the pros and against pls tell me.

Id get Visual Studio C++ .NET anyways, it can do Unmanaged (6.0) applications as well as C++ .NET, plus it has a great Debugger. As for features of .NET, I personally like it because its easier to look at, and is alot more sensical in how it works. If you like VB 5, you might wanna look into VB .NET too, its fully OOP which is loads of fun with VBs RAD caps. Hope this helps.

Another question i wasnt able to find on the microsoft website. How many CDs does .NET 2003 contain and does it use the MSDN library as help file. If so i guess that is a different MSDN library than the one of VS 6.

Yes VS.Net uses a new version of MSDN for its help files. And VS.Net is 5 or 6 CDs (somewhere around there anyways). You can get it on DVD also which makes things much easier.
