use asp.net to fee .pdf file to browser

What I want to do is feed the file to the browser via a asp file.

I want to do this to hide the URL of the file in question.

There are diffrent file types: .doc .pdf etc.

I want to protect these files from direct http access but I want to allow some users the ability to receive these files.

Any ideas or helpful code sample would be great.
