I have just brought one of those flashy car stereos where you can burn mp3s on to a cd and play them from this burnt CDs. Meaning you get about 10 hrs worth of music on 1 CD...cool!
I have just spend the last couple of days putting my music collection on to my computer, in there relevent folders, each relating to the CD it came from. As i am a big dance fan, most of my CDs are compliation CDs with 40 tracks by various artists - a number of tracks feature on more then 1 CD. I want to generate a list of duplicated tracks so i can delete them.
The problem is that due to the way they made the CD (and the way i created the mp3) there are a number of different formats on the filenames for these, such as:
01. jakatta - american dream
jakatta - american dream
american dream - jakatta
1. american dream - jakatta
and so on........
So i am planning on writing a program to sort these out for me, but too be honest i havent got a clue what i could possibly do to do this. Anybody got any ideas?
