May I know what is the best HTML Editor to generate HTML pages use by "HTML Help Workshop"? What do you think?

I cant use MS Word because the HTML file generated by MS Word is quite complicated (include XML...) and not recognise by HTML Help Workshop...

Of course there are plenty of HTML editor available. I just need your opinion of which one is more suitable for you

I have been using MS FrontPage for several years now and feel it doesn a pretty good job.

Did you use HTML Help Workshop? because it just support the basic HTML element but all all those fantastic features, so I dont think the HTML file by MS Frontpage can use in HTML Help Workshop

There are lots of Help File programs that take all the work out of Help.chm files. They range in pricing quite a bit but all are capable of index searching via key words, Table of Contents generation, etc., and intergrate prefectly with the Dot Net languages.

I personnally use HelpTron by Theta-Software. it has all the features of the "high price" programs but at a fraction of the cost. George Katsabouris, its author, is very helpful and responsive to any questions you might have.

Divil, How can note pad or Visual Studio develop a table of contents, key word search, or compress anything in a .chm format? How can they intergrate images, formated text and hyperlinks and bookmarks in an attractive manner?

Keep in mind that some help files are very large (one of my programs help file is currently 14 megs uncompressed - 3.5 megs compressed). I personally think its best to use the program for its intended purpose.

Currently I am using VS.NET to develop my HTML page, but it is not quite convenient for me.

I just need to generate the HTML file for my Help file, so I just need a HTML editor.

RoboHelp is pretty good. unfortunetly I dont kno of any free/cheap HTML Help generators that are available.

I had a quick look on Google and didnt find anything there. I just think that there is a hole in the market here...

I use a fully capable Help File maked called Accviz Helpmaker. This software is in Freeware, can generate HTML Help, WinHelp and HTML Pages that can be used as a help file.

You can download it from

http://www.accviz.com

Its an excellent product. I love it. Three cheers for Accviz.
