Functions in VB.net

I want to see the code behind the RATE function in VB.net? Or, can anyone show me some sample code that could replace it?

Why the code? Is a general algorithm not good enough?
You can use the Microsoft.VisualBasic.Rate function to calculate Rate.

I have multiple possible payment streams(PMT) against the Present Value(PV), so the rate function rate(NPER,PMT,PV) is going to work but the logic behind it will.
