Software Broken

Now that microsoft has made the

 [url]http://username:password@domain.tld[/url]

not work my software cannot pass the information to internet explorer, is there any way arround this that will allow the password information to be filled in automatically.
Would creating a Internet Explorer plugin to allow my software to do this work and how would i go about doing this
