Offline Files and Synchronisation

A client has a problem where 3 of the users laptops are setup to
synchronise My Docs with a Windows 2003 SP2 server.

The problem is that the laptops will not save properly when working
offline. MS office will lock up when trying to save to the offline
folder and sync errors occur when the users return to the office.

I have tried re-initialising the offline cache but this doesn't make a
difference. I have also tried it on a brand new laptop and still the
errors occurs.

This all suggests that the server is misbehaving. Is there a away to
re-initilise the offline database on the server?

Or can someone shed some light on this?

Thanks
Andrew

Re: Offline Files and Synchronisation

1) Do you have any errors in the logs, on client or server?
2) Have you set the standard settings for Caching on the W2K3 share?
There is no database on the server. It is a client-side function,

Re: Offline Files and Synchronisation

No erros on the server and none on the client either. Doesn't help at
all.

The caching settings on the server share has not be changed (I assume
you mean the Caching button on the Sharing tab in properties on the
folder?). I did check this as thought it may have something to do with
that but unfortunately everything is ok there.

Any other ideas?

Re: Offline Files and Synchronisation

What are the "sync errors" you refer to?
