 I making a paint proggy but I want it to handle layers and such.

My question is how do I go about making a layer toolbox like photoshop or paint shop pro

where it has the eye icon and the layer name and a tranparency slider and other commonly used filters.

Thanks in Advance
Richard

well, dude,
im assuming youre using GDI+ here,
whatever object you draw first is on the bottom layer,
the last object wll be on the top editor...
and im not too *sure* if you can "Go bakc and edit layers" in GDI+ beucase it treats it like a big heap

I appreacite you trying to help but if you dont even use photoshop or paint shop pro how can you help. and if you do use any of the above named proggies then I should of not even got the btw statment you made.

I was wanting to know what type of controls they put together to make it and how they make them at runtime. Also is it a mdi application and the layer palatte is a child form of the mdi?

here is a couple of screen shots

Looks like PaintshopPro is using a TreeView on the left and an owner drawn ListView on the right, while Photoshop 1 is using a TabControl and an owner drawn ListView.
There is a web location for a free owner drawn ListView in Random Thoughts from AlexCode that will probably accomplish what you are wanting.
