HI, have successfully installed WSUS version 2in all my sites (circa 20) and
applied the GPO to clients, basic settings using the
http://servername/wsusadmin. Have been asked to make the web site https.
Have installed certificate service, made the certifiacte request, completed
certificate and enrolled the certificate into the iis web site for wsus and
change the ports to http 80 and https 443. However I can now access the WSUS
site via the http://servername/wsusadmin and https://servername/wsusadmin
??? how can I force it to use only the https:// website?

Thanks.

Re: WSUS using SSL

Hello Apollo,

I'm afraid you can't set WSUS to use port 443 only. The virtual directory
"content", "ReportingWebservice" and "Selfupdate" can't work with SSL
connection. It's a by design feature, so you can't get rid of port 80 when
you enable SSL in WSUS.

I hope the information above can address your concerns. If anything is
unclear, please feel free to let us know.
