To Buy or Not to Buy

I have found a .Net component at http://www.winformreports.co.uk that will allow you to print a treeview. The component seems to take a screen shot of the Treeview and then prints it out. The cost of it is $300 US. My question is: Do I purchase the component or is it doing something simple that I could do myself???

Well... it depend on you... well... most on the time or the motivation you have. You can recreate and it will work perfectly for what you build it... but building a component can take days, weeks or even months (not for this one... but for big one ... yes).

If you have a short schedule... I recommend you to search for free component first and if you dont find nothing... buy the cheapest one that suit your need. Dont buy something with "extra" features you will never use. And if the source code come with it... its better since youll be able to correct bugs and other thingy.
