dll diff folder than app

I want to deploy an exe that knows where to look for a custom dll.
I dont want the dll in the same folder as the exe if at all possible.
any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

If the dll needs to be shared by multiple applications then you could install it into the Global Assembly Cache (GAC).
