Based on my personal experience with selected Belkin wireless network
products:
Re:
Belkin Range Extender / Access Point (The product can be used for both
functions.) I (only) used the access Point option.
Above was used in combination with a Belkin USB wireless network adaptor.
Both packages state Win 98 as being a suitable os.
Re: + Win98SE
The combination is a disaster. Sometimes it will work (only after a cold
reboot), sometimes it won't. All my settings were correct. I checked them
out. Every one of them. My advice would be, "Don't". The Belkin Service Desk
on one entire day was totally unavailable. When I did get hold of them on
another day, they were very pleasant but quite ineffective.
Re: + XPP
The above with XPP works excellently. I wouldn't use the software provided
with the adaptor by Belkin. It will give you a "my first program"
experience. Use the software provided with the XP os.
Re: + Vista
The above with Vista works excellently. My Dell Vostro laptop did not need
an adapter, did not need the Belkin software.
