Help creating a program where the user creates the shapes

I have been trying to research how i can create a piece of code on my window forms that will allow a user to create shapes (common or un common shapes) then be able to save the image file. Something like incorporating MS Paint, where they can even type text. Can any one point me in the right direction.

This needs to be in VB .NET
