Ftp question

Hi all,

If i move into a folder on the ftp server using the ftp command cd foldername, how the hell do i get back out of that folder?? Ive tried cdup, cd.. and I have looked through the list of ftp subcommands and cannot see anything that would suit what I want to do.

At the moment am only really figuring my way around ftp in dos on window xp pro machine. The two commands cwd.. and cwd/ dont seem to work as I am getting an "Invalid Command" error.
