Random thought of the day:
Google is searching 8,058,044,651 pages! :O!

8 BILLION! Jeez! 10 years ago this wasnt possible. 10 years from now its supposed to go into the trillions.

Can google be stopped?

Sry, I was just really bored.

I have a feelin googles gonna turn into a monopoly. Fine they have a search engine. Now theyve got email. They even bought KEYHOLE ! Soon I heard theyll have an IM. :O. Theyve moved into the 1337 h4xx0rz community. What will they do next?

... btw another random thought: McDonalds has served more food than the amount of pages that google searches through.

Sry again, really bored today and I havent seen a post here in quite some time.

The amazing thing is that Google searches through that many pages and still gives you thousands of results in like 3 seconds.

I dont know if its because gmail is beta and not too busy, but so far it slams other email in speed and usability!

Only reason why I havnt dropped yahoo is that GMail wont let you add .Zip files as attachments and I sometimes need to email myself VB projects/code or files to get to work or home.

In this case is a monopoly even bad? They provide a service that others cannot even touch. Its not based on "preference" or "style" like an OS might be (no matter how much Windows might be superier to Mac, others will still prefer something else and visa versa). Its a friggin search page.

I think there is a difference between MS horning in on others ideas and leveraging their own software over others and Google providing the same service as every other search engine, plus more and faster.

I think Im going to leave the US if they start deciding people are monopolies because they do something better than others can.

Id imagine googles servers to be top of line and very numerous. The scripting on the engine must be at or near perfection to be this fast.
