Well whats your Wants for christmas this year?

Wants:
Half Life 2
NFSU2
Steering Wheel
Thermalright XP-120 heatsink - makes great overclocking. My friend got his 3.0c to a 3.8, running stable!! A little unstable was when he clocked to 4.5 ghz. Meh. It did work though. I can only clock to 3.5 with my current heatsink.
Vantec Tornado fan (for CPU)
1 GB DDR 5400 HyperX (Yes, another gig)
DDR Ram booster
Faster DSL (from 1.5 mbps to 3 mbps, its only 5 extra bucks a month!)
Flat Panel monitor
6800GT
Klipsch Promedia Ultra 500W 5.1 surround
New TV (only at least 25 inches, I mean thats not a lot to ask )
Cell phone
Some sort of written permission from the government that I dont have to go to school (ever)and that theyll pay me (high wage) without having to work for the rest of my life.
Blah I can ramble on and on and on and on about stuff I want, knowing that its not gonna get me anywhere in the long run ;P.

Getting:

I want/need/strongly desire some Free Time.
Can Santa extend the day by 2 hours or more?
Maybe make me a sane insomniac? That would be like 6-7 hours a day!

FX-55
new waterblocks
2x GeForce 6800 ultras + mobo
2 gigs ddr
4x 80gig hdds for Raid 0 (sata 2.0)
100% on my analog signal processing final

that should do it :)

My parents are helping me out on the cost of a Geforce 6800, but other than that, cash I guess.

New computer, well all the parts I want to build a new computer

aprilia mille 1000 factory(italian streetbike)

1955 dodge coronet - as long as the body is straight and engine is there that I can rebuild and restore as a hotrod

new JOB

Should have added, got an ATI 9800 Pro for $150 (US) after rebates for the birthday. Now I just need some free time.
Or a LOT of money so I can retire and spend my "work" time doing hobbies instead :)

Realistically?

Razors, socks, boxerbreifs, maybe a few computer books on PHP/mySQL.

A little quiet fanstand for my widescreen laptop. I saw one that allowed ventilation, had fans and had a USB 2.0 hub built into it... yeah mine gets pretty hot if I dont have a deskfan blowing down on it.

A new Optical Track Ball with all sorts of nifty programmable buttons and left/right scrollers in addition to up/down.

In my Dreams?

I really want a HUGE high def LCD/Plasma screen... like 5 feet wide or so (and whatever height that is) then I can put it up on the wall behind my computer desk and hook my laptop... That would be a sweet display! Then watch TV on the Picture in Picture display :)

Id like one of those dual layered DVD burners... external (firewire preferred, USB2.0 is fine though)

More Ram (I need to see if I have any open slots in my laptop) and a larger/faster hard drive.

hmmmm let me see what I asked and what I got

Wish List:
- New BMW (330 will be nice)
- Only 40 hours a week at the office (currently working 60 hours at least)
- Clothes, lots of clothes
- X-Files DVD collection (all seasons)
- PS2, XBox Games (any game will do)
- A house (I live in an apartment)

What I got:

- 1 tshirt
- More debts in the credit cards

bah, Santa hates me

Speaking of harddrives...getting this would make my day :).

I find the size limiting. If I had a desktop, I would surely throw that on my master drive and have a huge slave drive...

If I could get that hard drive in a larger size Id throw that in my laptop... I should really look into that - I think laptops use different size hard drives :(

Off what was on my list I got the razor...

I did pull off some nice loot though, mostly movies & video games. I dont think I got anything at all computer related.

Hehe, people usualyl only install windows on those HDs (and install programs on their slower, 7200 RPM hdds). Its mainly a windows-drive I guess (for much faster boot times and stuff).

I dont mind the size at all. Right now I have 130 GBs of space on my computer. I only use about 5GBs of that (VS, EQ2, random stuff..., the rest is used up by family members). Im not the kind of person that downloads stuff all day and keeps it :). I can only imagine playing some newer games on a harddrive like that... the loading times would be so small.

Personally use Alcohol 120%. You record disk images to your hard drive and it creates a virtual drive(s) on your computer which can load the images.

So rather than having a stack of CDs next to your computer you can keep them put away - only needing them in case of a hard drive failure. Ive had too many cases where something would happen (scratched game disc, lost disc, MIA disc case, multiple apps on a daily basis that require the disc in the drive) that would keep me from using my software properly - wether it be installing or running. Very frustrating.

I also - for much the same reason - have most of my CDs converted to MP3 so I can load up my MP3 player for the Gym.

Heck, my wedding video is still on the harddrive in an uncompressed format taking up 16 gb...

Also some games (the few that I do play) play much better fully installed.

In fact currently I have a 35gb harddrive in my laptop and a 180gb external USB2.0.

Only problem with virtual drives, is that now some games/applications search your system for them and will not install/play if it finds any...
