IIS in XP HE SP2?

Im needing to install IIS on my Laptop (XP HE SP2).
Can it be done? If so how?

You should be able to go into add / remove programs under control panel and install it from there. Although I cant remember if XP Home edition ships with IIS or not.

Im not sure about home edition but I know its on the PRO disk. Choose add/remove and then additional components and its under internet or something. Itll say IIS 6.0. If its not on your home disk, borrow someones pro disk and install it.

Well from what I read on MSs site HEdition doesnt ship with IIS and MS also states it cant be done on HE. But ive seen a workaround for SP1 on HEdition, but it does not work for SP2. Was just wanting to know if anyone here knew of a workaround for SP2.

It is apparent to me that im not being clear enough.
I would only like to know if there is a known workaround; as simply condoning
an illegal act to get "IIS" fully functional on this laptop is not acceptable; and upgrading is not a solution for this laptop either!

Sorry for bringing back this old thread but I thought it was necessary; If you use the Express Products MS has available here VB.NET or C#; With VWexpress as well as the SQLexpress you will not need the IIS, you can also take a look at Web Matrix which comes with its own light-weight web server!

There is a workaround. Dont know of its legalities but I have it working on my laptop. You need a Windows 2000 CD to do it though. It should be legal in the sense of I have legal copies of WinXp Home and Win2000 Pro but who knows, it may not be. Apolgogies to the mods if this is the case!

Personally I think its quite incredible and annoying to say the least that you can shell out 500 for VS.Net and not be able to run half of it (ASP.Net) without XP Pro!
