Hello,

I have a question regarding the old visual basic 6.0. I have some programs written in 6.0 and still in use. Are they going to be compatible with longhorn or not?!

There is no reason why existing applications written in VB6 should stop working under Longhorn (just as existing applications written in other languages will not need to be re-written).
However many of the newer features provided by Longhorn will probably not be available to VB6 applications. Also Longhorn is probably still a year or so away and Microsofts mainstream VB6 support ends much sooner...

As far as I know, applications made in VB 3 (win 3.11) still work under XP or 2k3. And that is over 10 years ago. So although the development environment itself wont be supported, the actual applications made with it, still function.

You just wont be able to access all the new functionality (or have to do a lot of API calling to get it).
