Is it possible and reasonable to reduce the pagefile in a server with
4GB RAM (3 GB usable, /3GB switch, Windows Server 2003 Standard) to
2GB from 4GB??
What are the performance monitors I need to look at in Performance
Monitor to know how much the pagefile is really being used?? These
servers are for Exchange 2003 (also DC, file/print) and SQL 2005.
OR -- is it better to me to just move the pagefile to the larger one
of the two partitions on the server?? That is, from C:\ to D:\?? (C is
smaller than it should be, D is quite large)
I know that the servers will eventually have to be rebuilt or replaced
but if I can move or resize the pagefile, I can put this off for a
year or two until it's more practical and less expensive to start
thinking about virtualization, consolidation, etc.
Thank you, Tom
