OS Requirement

I am about to start on a Visual Basic.NET course and they say I need windows XP Professional. My system is Windows Home Edition. Can someone tell me if I am going to have any problems?

You wont be able to set up your machine as a server for web development, but other than that no problem at all.

So it should be ok to get started, maybe in the near future I`ll get the Professional.
