Vista not connecting to local web server

Hello all,

We have a test web server (XP/IIS) at work, set up to accept connections on
port 8080. All of our clients (XP and Mac OS) connects perfectly, except for
the 4 vista laptops we have. All of them suffers the same fate: An endless
wait for connection that never succeeds... (Waiting for connection...)

Some keywords:
All machines on the same subnet
No domain / AD. Just plain workgroups...
Both IE and Firefox fails
Have tried with firewalls disabled on both sides
Both hostname and IP fails
Ping works fine
Telnet connects but disconnects the moment we try to enter anything

Any ideas?

Thx,
-Pär

Re: Vista not connecting to local web server

Problem solved. Or rather problem detected... It was the WLAN. I plugged in
a cable and whoosh...
(Still have to solve that issue though I know, but that´ll have to wait. At
least now we can move on with our project...)

Re: Vista not connecting to local web server

It's probably the same problem I was having. Your NAT/firewall/DCHP server
is not compatible with Vista.

Have a look for DCHP broadcast flag for more details.
