is it possible to query the dataset?

i was wondering if it is possible to load the whole table into the dataset and then to send a query to the dataset in order to display in a datagrid only those rows that are returned from the query...

You may want to use a DataColumn.Expression in the DataTable.Select method to narrow the rows displayed in the DataGrid. The DataTable.Compute method will also work in most cases.

The DataView.RowFilter property will also accept a DataColumn Expression to filter the rows displayed.
