Can anyone recommend any decent books for doing the MCAD?

I was looking at this one.
Microsoft .NET Core Requirements
0-7356-1925-5 (Stick this in google)

Also i know the new course is coming out very soon, which is the one i SHOULD be sitting. I cant find any information concerning any Microsoft books that accompanies this course. All other books seem to be released around March/April 2006 which is far too late. Does anybody know about when the new version of the above set of books will be released?

Thanks
Jay.

Not seen / heard much in regards to books covering the new certifications, MS recently announced the new certification tracks and the new courses that will be available but that is about it...

I recommend using the amazon reviews, and make sure you read positive AND negative reviews. Thats how I usually choose my books...

hmmm.. Since then Microsoft has launched VS 2005 and on some pages referring to that it appears a number of their books wont be released until March 2006.

Although the books are still a way off some of the training courses are now in Beta and can be delivered by a Microsoft CTEC, however the courses and certification tracks have changed since the MCAD / MCSD currently in use.

I havent seen anything yet, but as with all things new I am sure MS will have a period of time in which both the old and new certifications and exams will be available. It would only make sense to do so in order to allow those who were already part way through complete the particular certification they were working on.

I began early this year to work toward the current exams but a major project at work sidetracked my time this year and well I didnt get very far. At this point I am starting to look at the new certifications and am sure Ill go for one of them. Figure might as well since .NET 2.0 is just coming out and what better time to get into something than when it first hits the ground.
