Daft search restrictions

I did a search for ICustomTypeDescriptor only to be told that no results were found and that (presumably this was the reason) ICustomTypeDescriptor had been excluded from the search because it was either too short, too long or too common. Presumably it was too long. Isnt it a bit silly that theres an exclusion for words which are too long?

Unlucky you, your word is 21 chars long and the max is currently set to 20! I sent a note to iNet since increasing the maximum length will make their database/index grow larger. I dont think theyll have a problem with increasing it, but who knows.

For now, you can also use google to do most of your searches. Try this:
ICustomTypeDescriptor site:computerhelp.forum

Unfortunately, it doesnt appear that anyone has posted on that word yet - or google is limiting its database, too? Who knows

OK, thats a helpful tip, thanks. The search does now find this thread.

The limit has now been raised to 25 characters, should make things a little easier to search.
