Dear All,

This is a solution, not a problem.

Over the past week I have been attempting to repair the connection between my PC and PDA so that I can deploy mobile apps to the PDA. You wouldnt believe how many sites Ive been on to try and find the answer. Anyway, thanks to a gentleman by the name of Nick Chadwick, I have found the solution.

To any admins or moderators, this may be one for the Code Library (even though its not code)...

Download this utility and install -
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...ang=en#filelist

1. Import ProxyPorts.reg. to the registry.

Note ProxyPorts.reg is located by default in Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\CompactFrameworkSDK\WinCE Utilities\WinCE Proxy Ports Reg.

2. On the computer that is running Visual Studio .NET, run the
DelDesktopCryptKey.exe utility from the command prompt to clean the security key container for the current user. DelDesktopCryptKey.exe is installed with the Windows CE Utilities for Visual Studio .NET 2003 Add-on Pack. By default, DelDesktopCryptKey.exe is located in the Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\CompactFrameworkSDK\WinCE
Utilities\DelDesktopCryptKey folder

3. Remove the device from the cradle and replace it. If deployment
still does not work, soft-reboot the device.
The actual details can be found here...

...but will shortly be archived.

As with the author of the posts detailed in the PC Review forum, I hope this saves you some of the problems Ive had.

Best regards,
Paul.
