Stitching Video

Hi Guys.

Am in the process of creating a small app that stitches videos, but from different file formats. Like, maybe two video clips (one in avi and the other in mpeg) to be stitched into one video in either format.

Links, tutorials, samples or any suggestions are most welcome and appreciated no matter how deep or stupid.
