Users are unable to add to favourites in Internet Explorer 6.0 on my W2003
Terminal Server

There is no error mesage or event viewer message

Administrators can add them OK

Favourites have not been redirected and users have full rights to their
profile on the server and on the roaming profile share

I have checked in the registry and this entry is correct

HKCU \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Current Version \ Explorer \
UserShell \
%userprofile%

Any ideas where to check next ?

Re: Cannot add favourites to Internet Explorer

Hi,

Is this registry path correct as well for each user:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

Favorites REG_SZ

Log on as an administrator, run Process Monitor, and then have
a normal user attempt to add a favorite. Look for any ACCESS
DENIED or other errors.

Process Monitor

Re: Cannot add favourites to Internet Explorer

Thanks for the reply

I ran Process Monitor but there are no such errors when the user attempts to
add to Favorites. They also cannot Organise Favorites.

Regarding

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

Favorites REG_SZ

That path is C:\Docouments and Setttings \ Administrator \ Favorites

Re: Cannot add favourites to Internet Explorer

Are you saying that when you log on as each individual
user (not administrator) and check their HKCU you
see C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Favorites
as the path?

That is not correct, each user normally should point to
their own unique location.

Re: Cannot add favourites to Internet Explorer

Sorry - when i log on as the users there is no entry for that !

That is clearly the problem

If I manually add it - doesn't make any difference. When the user logs off
and on - the entry is still blank

I need to find a way of getting the correct path in their for all users !
