Re: Norton on Vista
You absolutely right Winston. ANG is low on the list Mod 32 comes out top
with Kaspersky at about 78%
I prefer Panda but its three down on that list.

Floyd,
You might want to update your history.
Peter Norton sold the company to **Symantec** 17 years ago and
significantly well in advance of Windows 95.
You might also wish to check your stats on AVG, the free version routinely
finds(similar to other free programs)65-90% of the potential virus threats.
Not a single AV program can detect 100% of undocumented virii including the
fee based versions which operate in the 90%+ range.
Even the pro version of AVG (fee based) is further down the list compared to
other reputable fee based versions. Here's a cross section of sites that
perform ratings using a variety of different methods.
Note: These are the mostly for the free versions that have all the bells and
whistle protections that the free versions contain.

- scan through the history for the two available type of
reports(retrospective and on demand) for performance and false positives.

For Vista,
The spot-on choice for fee based appears to be Kaspersky, Nod32 and Bit
Defender.
