How works ListBox OwnerDraw (DrawItem) and HideSelection ?

 I need explain how works listbox ownerdraw, in manual it is short, not very well explained...
I want something like HideSelection for listbox, but i cant find them. Thats reason of using ownedraw.  I have two listboxes in a form, if I switch from one listbox to second, then the highlighted item in first listbox keeps.
