I have parental control set up for my son. I don't have him blocked for
downloading files; however, he is unable to download files under a file
manager for on-line courses he is taking.

We contacted the technical support on their end and they said its due to
Vista.

**Windows Vista users: The File Manager does not work in Windows Vista
unless you have parental controls disabled or are logged into an
administrator account. This is not a bug -- it is a security feature of
Vista. Please run the GP4 software from an account without parental
controls.**

Can anyone help?

Hi IHS,

If you have Parental Controls set to not "Block File Downloads", then
it is a Administrator permission issue. A Standard account can download
files, but cannot install anything without giving a Administrator
password permission for the UAC prompt. The download manager program
must be trying to install the files for the on-line courses. The only
way around this that I know of is to:

1. Give him a Administrator account.

or

2. Set the download manager program to "Run this program as an
Administrator" with Compatibility Mode. You will then have to enter
your password everytime he runs the program for it work. This tutorial
will show you how to use Compatibility Mode.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
