Could someone explain to me what I need to do. I understand that server 2003
comes with two remote access licenses on it so that two people can log onto
the machine remotely. How do I add more licenses to it so that I can have
lets say 10 people log onto it simutaneously? Thanks in advance for any help.

What you mean is, when 2003 has Remote Desktop enabled, two
administrator accounts can logon to the server remotely.
To increase that you must go to Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs |
Windows Components and select 'Terminal Services'.
In this case your machine will become a terminal server and will allow
more than 2 users. The thing is you will need to have additional
licenses for that (Terminal Services Client Access Licenses - TSCALs)
and will need a Terminal Services Licensing (that can be installed on
the same box, using the same procedure above - just select 'Terminal
Services Licensing').
Finally you will need to decide on per user or per device licensing. If
you have multiple users sharing the same devices used to access the
Terminal Server then it is better to do per device. Otherwise go for per
user.

Hello Dale,

If that server runs as a terminal server you have the option to run in administration
mode, that means 2 remote connections for adminstrative tasks. If you will
run TS in application mode you have to buy client access licenses from MS
for every user that connects to the server. So ask your software vendor,
he can provide you the details you need based on your system.
