Upgrading from 2003 standard to R2 - need DFS

Hi there,

Can anyone help me with this problem. I have three Windows 2003 sp1
servers (2 x enterprise and 1 x standard) and I want to upgrade them
to R2 as I want to be able to use DFS across them.

I have contacted the software company we use and asked them how much
it is for the upgrade to R2. As far as I am aware R2 comes on the
second cd of the pack and I was thinking I could just run this on the
servers and upgrade them. The software company said that there isn't
an upgrade available.

Anyone else done a similar thing? Is there an upgrade available to do
this?

Anyone any tips on how I can get DFS on these old servers?

Just to add it is DFS folder replication i am after.

I have personally taken "old" Win 2k3 SP 1 servers ( servers that were
installed before R2 came out) and ran setup2 from the second disk of the R2
set and gotten the R2 features installed. The only thing I can think the
software vendor was talking about is if they only have R2 w/ SP2 . The first
R2 set of CDs had Win 2k3 Sp1 on the first CD and R2 on the second CD. Just
guessing that maybe they have the "second" R2 set that would have Win 2k3
SP2 on the first CD and R2 on the second.

This is just a guess.
