Gurock Software just announced the new version of their advanced .NET, Java and Delphi logging tool http://www.gurock.com/products/smartinspect/ SmartInspect 3.2.

The new version includes dozens of new features, improvements and bug fixes and can be downloaded from Gurocks website. SmartInspect 3.2 now supports automatic replacing of variables in connection strings, allowing developers to modify and adapt log file paths for target systems more easily. With the new options to specify custom timestamp patterns and field widths, developers now have more control about how text log files are formatted.

Other new features and improvements include the ability to run the viewer application from USB drives, specify the pipe name via command line parameters and log exception stack traces (new for Delphi). The introduction of a new string pool mechanism and various other techniques to optimize the viewer application makes it possible to open and analyze even larger log files without splitting them. The viewer application has also been upgraded to make use of the latest development tools and third-party components available, integrating it better with Windows Vista and preparing it for Windows 7.
