hi,
I'm not sure this has to do v/Vista at all, b/c I've had this problem
before.. (but I couldn't find a vista-multimedia group, not one in
English.. I'm on Vista Ultimate..)
if I go to c-span and try to play one of their on-demand clips (for
example rtsp://video.c-span.org/15days/e092507_clinton.rm) neither IE or
FF will open it; FF says it can't open the file because "the protocol
(rtsp) isn't associated with any program", on IE I just get a 404.. but
I do have Real Player installed, I installed it recently, and have used
it w/no problems to play clips from other sources..
and .rm is a Real Player extension, right? so why do I have this
problem?? (and c-span does not offer choice betw. WM and RM.. for live
streams they do, but not for on-demand stuff..)
I have gone to FF and IE settings, can't find where you tell it to use
Real Player to open .rm extensions ( but why WOULD browsers not choose
obvious choice for opening a .rm file???
thank you very much..
