i just installed vista home premium, installed quickbooks, when i go to use i
get this message..
" your user account for windows was created with restricted access to system
resources. this will prevent quickbooks from operating properly. please
contact your system administrator and ask him or her to grant you standard
user rights."

My understanding is that only the latest version of QuickBooks is fully
compatible with Vista. Do you have the latest version? You are not the
true system administrator in Vista (which is disabled by default) but
the latest version of QuickBooks understands Vista's user account structure.

If you *do* have the latest version of QuickBooks, contact Intuit tech
support or look on their website for the answer to your issue.

Have you tried right-clicking on the icon, selecting properties,
opening the security tab, and checking run as Administrator? You may
need to "Show settings for all users". Malke knows his stuff though.
There's no reason that Quickbooks 2007 shouldn't work.

Re: user access rights problem

believe it or not but 2007 qb would not work, 2001 pro is fine. clicking on
run as administrator worked, so easy who who knew.

marty
