RE: Notification Icons
Right click on the icon and see what it is for. The "gold shield" (with an
explanation mark !) could be Windows Update letting you know there are
updates available for download or installation, depending on your Update
settings.
The "multicolored globe" icon is not something I see in my system tray but I
do have the globe on the bottom of my Internet Explorer (IE) windows with the
word "Internet" next to it. If I hover on the globe, it says "Double Click
To Change Security Settings"... for IE.
Do you have this globe in your system tray? Right click on it and see what
it says it belongs to. It could be for one of your other programs.
