I tried to upload a renewal for my antivirus (trend micro) and it would not upload. I contacted Trend Micro and after spending over 4 hours on the phone with them trying to troubleshoot the problem (they accessed it remotely) they finally
came to the conclusion that due to a Microsoft Update the 2005 Visual C++ (64 bit) was not on the computer but to them it looked like it was replaced with the 2008 Visual C++ (86 bit) that will not work with their program. They performed a SFC Scan and
determined there were corrupt files that could not be repaired. They told me to contact Microsoft for help. I found a download for the 2005 Visual C++ and downloaded it, then tried to access the antivirus again. It still will not work.
Trend Micro did tell me that they put the antivirus on the computer running in the background but I cannot access it.
I am using a HP laptop running Windows Vista.
