The error is totaly silent i.e. I try to connect and then the remote
desktop dialog behaves as if nothing happened. No error messages. I
have remote access enabled on the server I have set up many small
business servers before with no problems. Help please.

Re: RDP/TS not working on Windows Small Business server 2003

Hi,

What happens if you logon to the console of the server and
then use the Remote Desktop Client to connect to localhost?

Any errors in the system or application logs?

Is the server listening on port 3389? Use netstat -an

Is the Terminal Services service running?

If you temporarily switch the server's video driver to
Standard VGA Graphics Adapter and restart does the
problem still occur?

Re: RDP/TS not working on Windows Small Business server 2003

OK thanks, It works with the Standard VGA Driver. So what is the
problem with my ATI driver? So can I not use the ATI driver or do I
need to do something else to fix the problem?

Re: RDP/TS not working on Windows Small Business server 2003

Now try a newer or older version of the driver. It is
best if the driver is digitally signed.

Please let me know your results either way. It would
be helpful if you could post the ATI card as well as
the driver version that didn't work and the one that
does.

Thank you for your help.

Re: RDP/TS not working on Windows Small Business server 2003

Good catch, TP!
So it seems that it's not only the NVIDIA drivers which can cause
this problem.

886212 - You are unexpectedly logged off when you try to connect to a
computer that is running Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP
