Streaming Audio Recorder

I am interested in writing a streaming audio recorder in C#, but I am not sure where to start.  Are there libraries in .NET that would assist in capturing streaming audio and saving in various formats (MP3, WAV, etc)?
 
If this is possible, does the compact framework also support them?
