I am upgrading my Windows 2003 Server hardware. I am reinstalling all of
the software on my new server, and once I get everything switched over, I
will take the old server out of service.

How do I move my CALS from the old server to the new server?

Thanks,

Re: Moving Terminal Server CALS to New Server

Hi Mike,

Unfortunately there is no automated method to transfer
TS CALs from one server to another. You need to
contact the Clearinghouse and have them reissue your
CALs so that you can install them on your new server.

After you have your TS CALs installed on the new
server you can deactivate your old TS licensing server.
Check your System log for errors to make sure that
the TS is not having problems finding the new licensing
server.

HOW TO: Locate a Phone Number for the Microsoft Clearinghouse
