What is the current state of MSXML? The last blog post by the XMLTEAM is over a year old. The last SDK is ancient. Im not even sure if it will install on a new OS. Is standard XML-Dev being replaced at Microsoft?
Why the questions? I am entering web design and development with small business clients that have an interest in marketing their products and services on the web. Many of the prospective clients (those that have websites) are on non-MS servers,
even though I use Microsoft development products. Also, given that hundreds of developers (at Microsoft) are updating technologies on a daily basis, it is really difficult to keep up, even to decide what I should be attending to. The relatedness and applicability
to my core business is a question with every new invention. Is there a road to success in my venture, as in something graphic or readable from Microsoft? It is for me like trying to figure out the family relationships in Hamlet. Who is related to who? What
is their geographic domain? Why should I pay attention to this character?
