Ok, so here's the deal... Purchased TS User CALs (2 ) back in June. There
are two users who access via terminal services - myself and another. It
seems that although we purchased TS User CALS (confirmed on the open license
confirmation), the server was configured for device. The other guy initially
logged in using his home computer and it received the license. His real
computer (a laptop) received the temp license which has now expired and of
course he cannot log in.

According to the article below, all I need to do is to into TS Configuration
and change it to per user.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822134/en-us

The article seems to suggest that in this mode, we are basically on the
honor system and we must actually have the user cals (which we do).

SO here's the question, If I change this, will the other guy now be allowed
to log in? If not, how do I fix this?

Thanks

Re: TS 2003 Licensing

Yes, just switch to Per User licensing mode on the TS server and
all should be well.
If it isn't, you can delete the locally stored (expired Per Device)
TS CAL from any client which you can't connect from.
