In http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/hh403373" target="_blank the next release of .NET (version 4.5) , less disk space will be used to store the .NET on your system. In fact, roughly 40% less space than is required today in some cases. This is a significant milestone for .NET. Besides taking up less room on your desktop, .NET 4.5 will fit onto your more disk-space limited devices (like a tablet, for example...).
