Yea. Although I'm still inclined to mind my own business & let the
meanest ones fight it out amongst themselves-- I almost did formulate
peacemaking words for that thanatoid recently!

I think sometimes no matter whomever it may be, I've found that no matter
what you say some people still just seek out and thrive on the debate of
any type of conflict, even actively create conflict out of anything just to
have it, and so no matter what words you use just fuels their negativity.
I usually don't have the patience to be the adult mediator in those times,
and instinctively I'd rather just shoot them (symbolically speaking of
course :o)

Before I would symbolically pull the trigger, I'd want to know whether
there was a purpose to the negativity. Is it being used by the
individual for profit or to create pain, or has it consumed & become the
individual & actually have no purpose at all? I'd probably have more
sympathy in the second case.

Yes is true and I understand that, and shows that you have empathy in order
for you to know that compassionate sympathy; sometimes when a person is
consumed on the negative drama aspect always wanting to debate to the
negative, sometimes though I have little patience and finally quickly
realize there is not much in this world that I can say that will have them
see the light, and if the more I try the more they spin - that's the time I
see it for what it's worth and leave the table, since as you must know,
often one has to hit the very bottom of the stairs they are scaling in
order to finally be able to turn around to see there is a way up and most
importantly have the desire to improve to the positive.. symbolically again
of course.. ..anyway, we sure have digressed from the OT haven't we...
Peace.. Rick

Yea, we are off topic. Everyone here in this NG should mainly aim to
stay on topic. I guess some leeway is allowed when real-life topics
intrude.

You've said it well. I think, really, it's you who should be the
peacemaker & preacher-- not necessarily me! When you run out of
patience, close one eye & count the number of souls you have saved, is
all! But keep the other one open in case the devil is lurking nearby!

But seriously I hope everyone ends up in the right direction on that
staircase!
