I got a windows 2003 server hotfix that needs to be installed here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;821507&Product=winsvr2003
When actually attempting to install this hotfix, I get the error:
"Setup could not find the update.inf file needed to update your system"
I have done a good deal of forum trolling and troubleshooting, including but
not limited to all the methods (to no avail) in the following link:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;822798
None of the things I've tried work. I did find this very old post detailing
basically my exact experience with a final response of "well, it looks like
the installer is broken... I'll tell microsoft." This thread can be found
here:
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...6-ba1a8875c1a7&lang=en&cr=&sloc=en-us&m=1&p=1
I understand that the particular hotfix I'm working with isn't complete just
yet, so the installer-is-broken is entirely viable. I'm wondering if this is
indeed the case (eg. I can give up and wait for microsoft to fix it... not a
real option in my scenario) or is there an actual fix for this?
Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.
