Windows Vista Windows Easy transfer software won't load on XP

I'm moving to Vista. But the Windows Easy Transfer software won't load on to
my XP laptop. Any suggestions? I get the message: ... has encountered a
problem and needs to close."

Don't get Vista, stick with Windows XP!!! I've never had so much trouble
installing software (even new Quicken just purchased), hunting to find
things, etc. And it asks you if you have permission to make a change every
time you want to change a setting. And it runs no faster than my old Windows
98SE or my Windows XP laptop.
