Having trouble updating Visual Studio 2008 to 9.0.30729.6161

Hi,
We have installed Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 on a 64-bit, Windows Server R2 Standard machine.
It seems to have all of the updates, but the manifest file for redistributables is still referencing an older version than our other win64 machines do. We have uninstalled and reinstalled the security update that corresponds to the version we want (Microsoft
Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update, 9.0.30729.6161), but the manifest file doesnt get updated. Do you have any suggestions on how to get this update?
