I've been asked recently to look into a program (like SnagIt) that would
allow users on our Citrix/TS servers to print the screen easily. Today,
they have to press the "PrtScn" key, open a WordPad Document, change it
to Landscape and print the document.

I'd like to see the ability to send it to a printer or save it as a JPEG
file.

Being a non-profit Hospice, there aren't a lot of funds and it's hard to
justify spending $$ when we can't get more basic/needed software and
hardware.

Any thoughts on free or inexpensive (read CHEAP) software that is TS
compatible?

TIA.

Re: Print Screen?

Hi Hank,

I have not tested it extensively under TS but I would take
a closer look at the free gadwin printscreen. I have used
it under xp with good results.

http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/

It stores the various options (hotkey setting, image source,
image destination, file type, quality, etc.) under HKCU
which is good for TS compatibility. I tested it in a window
RDP session and using Print Screen key does not work
(you have to use the equiv Ctl-Alt-plus) but you could
train your users or change to a different keystroke.

It is possible for a TS program to make the Print Screen
key work in a session but it looks like they used more the
"correct" way which means it should not work unless you
use the RDP-specific key combination.

If running this in their session keep in mind the extra memory
overhead for each concurrent user.

Re: Print Screen?

I suggest you try Print Screen Deluxe. It's perfect for capturing
your screen or just certain windows. Extremely easy too. Just hit
the <Print Screen> key.

It does every thing you've asked for.
