Hi

We're testing new TS functionalities in Win2008 RC0. After trying to access
TS Web Access via IE7 (on WinXP or WinVista) I get the following error

ActiveX control not installed
The Terminal Services ActiveX Client control is not available. You must
install this ActiveX control before you can access RemoteApp programs
through TS Web Access.
The ActiveX control is included with the Remote Desktop Connection 6.0
client update. You can learn about this update and download the installation
package by visiting this website.
After you install the package, you must refresh this Web page to see the
list of RemoteApp programs.

Looking for some answers through the web, I found that this is some kind of
bug in Win2008 RC0 that is using RDP 6.1, since in Win2008 Beta3 RDP was
6.0?
Is there any way to solve this problem, or do we need to what that MS puts
out some updates for that?
Regards,
Miha

You're probably referring to this?

Yes, the RDP 6.1 client is needed. For now, you'll need the beta versions
of Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) to
test TS Web Access.

Re: Win2008 RC0 TS Web Access

Thanks for info. I'll wait then for full release of Vista SP1.
Will be in WinXP SP3 also covered to include SSTP protocol for VPN
connections to Win2008 server or will this functionallity be limited to
Vista clients only?

Re: Win2008 RC0 TS Web Access

The TS Gateway doesn't use SSTP. Nonetheless, connections through the TS
Gateway work using the RDP 6.0 TS Client already shipped for Windows XP.

For SSTP questions, you may want to visit

Re: Win2008 RC0 TS Web Access

Yes I know. But if I'll configure SSTP access on Win2008 server (for VPN
connection to our comapny network), I'll need clients that will support this
kind of connections.
At that point only Win2008 or WinVista with BetaSP1 support it. Will this be
also supported in WinXP SP3 or will be limited to Vista clients only?
