about the harddisk serial number

I know the harddisk serial number can be gotten by CreateFile("\\.\PhysicalDrive0")&DeviceIoControl, but if the current computer has no harddisk but a ssd, can the serial number be gotten by CreateFile("\\.\PhysicalDrive0")&DeviceIoControl?
